YouTube Clips of the Week: “Massage for Headache Relief”
I’m not sure this is legal in some states, but massage for headache relief is certainly a lot more fun than taking very harsh medicines. However, you should still take a painkiller as soon as you realize a migraine is coming on. Massage won’t cure a migraine, but at least it can help relieve a little tension, which can help reduce the pain.
This is one of the many thousands of videos put out by Expert Village. Instead of putting out an hour long video, they ask their freelance filmmakers to chop up their knowledge in one to five minute bite-sized videos which are easier for the viewer to digest. When you have a headache, you don’t really want to spend most of the time rewinding or fast forwarding to the one bit you need. (Or maybe you do, behind locked doors and drawn curtains).
One of my clients is Demand Media, which owns Expert Village. One of my jobs for Demand Media is to transcribe these “how to” videos. I can tell you for a fact that some of the videos dole out really crappy advice, BUT this video on massage for headache relief is an exception. Maybe one day I’ll actually follow the advice given in this video.
Hope this helps.
Ahh, now I see they’ve gone and disabled the code on me. Man - make one little snarky comment and they pounce on your butt. Okay, just use the link above to see the video.
After that, you can look at a second YouTube clip on helping a headachy baby with massage, using principles from TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Now this I have done to myself and it does help a little.
