YouTube Clip of the Week: “Bighorn Sheep Head To Head”
Think you have a headache? It’s probably nothing in comparison to the concussion headaches received by bighorn rams.
I’ve always wondered if bighorn rams get migraines. However, they have something we humans lack — a double-layered skull. Perhaps medical researchers should concentrate on genetic engineering to make us have the same skull structure as a bighorn ram. And the forty pound horns might come in handy, too. You’d probably always get your prescription refilled if you carted a pair of those babies about. You’d probably also be able to go into the ten items or less checkout line with more than ten items without anyone bothering you, either.
This clip was put up by Keith McManamen, who “borrowed” this from a 2006 National Geographic podcast. The advertisements before and after the podcast are still on there. Note the television advertisement features American football players going head to head. Not much difference betwen humand and bighorns.
Remember, if you do get a concussion (whether from a bighorn ram or not), you need to go to an emergency room to get checked, even if you don’t feel all that bad. Putting a cold compress on your head, taking painkillers and not driving are all recommended, too. Despite popular beief, it’s okay to go to sleep when you have a concussion.
And yes, it’s been a little while since I posted a “YouTube Clip of the Week.” It’s getting harder and harder to find anything related to headaches, health care, concussions or migraines that isn’t an advertisement for some goofy product or other. So, enjoy.
